Through the use of its proprietary ratings system, the firm has been so successful that it has evolved from a family office to a full-blown mutual fund company. On October 1, Sirius debuted its first mutual fund, the Sirius S&P Strategic Large-Cap Allocation Fund (SSPLX), a broad-market fund intended to outperform the S&P 500. “We believe in our investment strategy and want to offer it to the public for the first time,” said portfolio manager Stacey Russello. And while this is the company’s first fund, it is not tip-toeing into the market with a conservative long-only fund.
