Jobless Claims Adjust For Population

FYI: In yesterday's post on Initial Jobless Claims, we noted that claims are currently at levels not seen in 14 years. This was even more impressive given the fact that the US population has grown by 12% since then. That got us thinking. Adjusted for the size of the US population, where do claims currently stand? With that in mind, the chart below shows the level of initial jobless claims as a percent of the total US population.
