FYI: Friday morning's release of Housing Starts and Building Permits for the month of September came in mixed with a slight beat (starts) and a slight miss (permits). In the case of Housing Starts, economists were expecting a seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) of 1.008 million, but the actual reading came slightly better at 1.017 mln. For Building Permits, the actual SAAR reading came in at 1.018 mln, which was slightly below the consensus expectation of 1.03 mln.
