Scott Burns: The Performance Management Lottery Ticket
FYI: Charles Ellis hammered the latest nail in the coffin of professional money management. His article, “The Rise and Fall of Performance Investing” appeared in the summer issue of The Journal of Portfolio Management. It declares the era of performance money management over. Done. Finished. Regards, Ted http://assetbuilder.com/scott_burns/the_performance_management_lottery_ticket
I generally agree with the theme of this article. Does anyone find that they can uncover active managers who add value in more "obscure" areas of the market such as international small cap and alternatives (e.g. long/short and managed futures)?
Don't know about "obscure areas" whatever that is, but I can find managers that "outperform" that is get me what I want/need from my investments, and that is YOUR goal too isn't it?
