People who want to follow Icahn can buy IEP (Icahn Enterprises), which is an MLP that offers exposure to Icahn-owned companies and hedge fund. I don't trust Icahn to do anything more than look out for Icahn - he's not going to tell you when he's selling - but he makes some good points about Apple.
Yep, I'm not a fan of his. His recent chatter of telling Apple to buy back their stock was proof of him looking out for himself as you said. I think Apple can take care of their own business and they haven't done a bad job so far.
