FYI: Historically, September has been the worst month of the year for equity investors. However, since the financial crisis, September has proven to be much less painful than history would suggest. This year, it appears that the old pattern re-emerged; September started out strongly, only to roll over sharply in the final few weeks. The good news is that most major market indexes are still above their August lows, with only a few breaking below.
