Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
We had to disable a number of site features this summer, including the reply-to function, because they seemed to be causing software conflicts and serious site stability problems. The "who's online" plug-in suffered the same fate.
Since hiring an outside problem-solver to work with our databases and reducing the number of plug-ins, we'd had dramatically better performance: we'd been seeing an outage a day, admittedly often at 1:00 a.m., and now we're seeing barely one a month.
Wasn't there a reply link, don't see it anymore. How do you reply to a specific post?
you can click quote if it is that important to show what the original author said. Otherwise using what @JohnChisum said will notify the person on the other side of the @ that they have been "mentioned". Settings preference whether you get email or an on-screen notification or both can be modified in edit profile edit preferences.
but if you re-edit message and then add the @JohnChisum they don't get the mention. Has to be done in your initial unedited post.

For what that's worth,
