Hmm ... Most of Asia now modestly negative after a mixed/positive open. European futures down big-time. U.S. off just modestly. Gold tacking on $8-$10 at just under $1330. Palladium's been rising as used in cat converters and other industrials and Russia's the major world supplier. Japan watchers: Nikki's flat-down slightly.
U.S. 10-year treasury at around 2.6% has dropped in recent days. Old Skeet mentioned the short week and other volatility factors. I'll add that trading may be somewhat thinner this week with many on vacation. If planning a move one way or another the week's volatility might help. ..... Reuters and others report continued heavy inflows into funds for latest reporting period. I suspect that will turn quickly if the funk continues.
Looks like things might get messier in Ukraine by morning. Local authorities appear on the verge of waging anti-terrorist military type actions against the pro-Russian protesters occupying some public buildings in Eastern Ukraine. (Some actions have begun by some reports.)

Many season investors including myself have a weather vane so to speak concerning the market. No doubt some of the vanes are more complex and provide more information than others. Mine follows pretty much a keep it simple type format because I have found, through the years, the more complex and the number of measures the take away information becomes, at times, more confusing to digest.
Sometimes we try to fix things that are not broke. So, I say, if your vane is woring to your satisfaction I'd ... keep on keeping on ... keeping on. For me, this includes a walking asset allocation within certain guide lines as to how I am reading the markets; and, I adjust it accordingly.
