403(b)wise and 403bcompare: Helpful IRA resources

These are (2) websites I would turn to for 403(b) and 457 IRA plan resources prior to retirement.

403bwise has a well managed discussion board where you can also post questions and read responses from fellow investors.

These IRA plans tend to be somewhat similar to 401K plans, but with many different characteristics.

403bcompare is also a great site to research and compare company offering. Select "Browse Vendors" to see if your 403 plan is listed. Though these plans are somewhat specific to California Public school systems I found it helpful.

  • @bee: Its been some time since I look at 403bWise. Year ago on FundAlarm we got a lot of questions for public employees, especially teachers, on both 403(b) and 457 plans.
