When most managers in ANY investment category don't know WTF they are doing, why are we expecting Market Neutral fund managers to be any different? 4 out of 5 of such finds should suck on first principles.
Hmmm. Hedge out market risk and seek out individual companies/sectors that will out perform or underperform. It is the ultimate all-weather strategy, no? I think the folks at Whitebox are doing a pretty good job so far implementing the strategy to various degrees with both WBLFX and WBMIX.
