Fire

edited September 2011 in Off-Topic
No, not the fire in stock market. This is real fires that took more than 500 homes in Central Texas (and 1000 overall in Texas) and still not fully contained. It is a real disaster.

One of the fires (Leander) was less than 10 miles from my home (driving) and a co-worker who was even closer said that the fires was extinguished there (after burning 13 homes). The biggest one is the forested area around Bastrop.

Sorry to hear this. Here in northern Mich fires not unheard of, but main punishment from Mother Nature is snow, starting in November. Will take that over fire anytime. Frost in some areas last night. A balmy 59 degrees at noon hour today. Stay safe.
  • wish we had some of that rain @ central Tex when Irene hit. what a shame! that's why Mother Nature want to give us...
