I watched and read about Jacobson's picks and he seems quite enamored with PIMCO and Fidelity bond funds. There are some good ones and some head scratchers there for picks. He pays very little attention to lesser known but equally as good (if not better) bond funds out there.
Waiting for our own Shadow(good as anyone in informing us of changes, closings, and new opportunities in fund investments) to post info concerning Mr Krug's new position @ Artisan Funds
OVERLAND PARK, KS, November 21 , 2013 – Ivy Funds today announced that veteran high - yield portfolio manager William M. Nelson has assumed management of Ivy High Income Fund He takes over Ivy High Income Fund from Bryan C. Krug, who had managed the fund since 2006 and recently accepted a position with another firm. The high income research team, which had supported both Nelson and Krug, remains intact.
Interesting that we do not use any of the funds on this list. That certainly does not mean the list is not good. But it is interesting that none of the bond funds we use is on the list. They clearly like core bond funds and have only one semi-flexible fund on their list. By contrast, we have no core funds in our lineup, with the exception of tax-free bonds, where there are no 'strategic' options available. I guess if you assume that interest rates will never go up, core funds are good places to be.

Ted would add that Mr Krug's former funds, Ivy High Income Fund (WHIAX) and it's sister fund Waddell & Reed Advisor High Income Fund (UNHIX), are rated 6th and 7th in U S News high yield rankings.
