Reply to @Ted: Dear Ted, When he guy/gal flying your a** at 30,000 feet above Terra Firma at nearly 600 MPH is earning less than the guy you call to unclog your commode or pick up your dirty laundry .... ya ought to be concerned.
Reply to @hank: I was just kidding. For your information a beginning Southwest pilot makes $49,600. Granted they must fly the maximum number of hours allowed, but heck everyone must start somewhere. An experienced pilot makes between $150,000 and $200,000 per year. Regards, Ted
Most pilots do not start at flying 737s. The usual route is to fly the regional planes to start. These guys make very little money for their responsibility. I wouldn't say $49,600 is much better.
