"Fellow countrymen: at this second appearing to take the oath of the presidential office there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. Then a statement somewhat in detail of a course to be pursued seemed fitting and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years during which public declarations have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest which still absorbs the attention and engrosses the energies of the nation little that is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends is as well known to the public as to myself and it is I trust reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future no prediction in regard to it is ventured.”

@Old_Joe,

I see that "Senior Troublemaker" is listed beneath your user name.
That doesn't seem quite fair!

@Observant1, yes, there are 2 placements of New-Reply button, at the top and bottom of threads that open full reply screen.

However, Quick Reply only has Post-Reply and Preview-Post options. Unintuitively, the Preview-Post also opens the full reply screen, so the post can be further edited or formatted, and then Post-Reply can be used from there (as I did for bold, underline and italics here). Color can be used too (that's A icon).

Test - last post was mine.
Edit/Add. This was shown as brand new post, but it was 1+ hour later.

Another test.
Edit/Add. So, this post got added to the last post but there was a line separation.
There seems a timer that determines if the another post made by the last poster gets added to his/her previous post (with a line separator) or a brand new post started.
This issue was noted by @Observant1 and verified.

@Observant1, by accident, I discovered that if use full-edit, the messy looking posts can be cleaned up.
Edit has Quick Edit and Full Edit.

Hi @yogibearbull,

What do you mean by cleaning up messy looking posts?
I only use the Full Edit option (with a few exceptions for testing Quick Edit).

Edit/Add: The attachment shows what was displayed after selecting Quick Edit for this post.

@Observer1, that was related to 2 quick posts when the 2nd post just appeared with a line separator. If you use full-edit, you can clean up and make it a single post. That may not be worth the effort but it can be done.

Thanks for the clarification.
I have a strong preference for the automatic creation of a separate, distinct post each time the "New Reply" feature is used.
