In the event you never have believed the swamp would be drained, take a look at how Steve Mnuchin has enriched himself at the expense of working stiffs and mortgage holders.

    Are we surprised? Did we think the POTUS would hire people with some actual upstanding values/morals and actual ethics? How about some empathy for all of the people passing due to Covid-19? Didn't hear too much about that during his rant in the rose garden yesterday.

    Thanks @BenWP. Noticed yesterday that that article is available in audio form through my subscription to Audm. Am putting it at the top of the list for my usual late night listening. Do recall “much ado” early in T’s administration about munch and wifey using government planes for personal travel.

    Not trying to sell the service, but if you enjoy longform journalism as much as I do, check it out. The readers do a real nice job with the dozens of fresh articles every week.

    What a revelation? Another rich guy from wall ST. I prefer to have rich people who are already rich before they serve in Gov than other politicians I know. Of course, if Mnuchin was under Dems then it's all OK. Wait, Larry Summers is a millionaire(link) and so is Rubin (link)
    A relative of mine works in Silicon Valley. Mrs. Obama was schedule to give a 2 hours speech for several hundred thousands. Days before she claimed that the max time could only be 1 hour maybe less but demanded to be paid the same. What a diva?

    I voted for Clinton twice. Obama was the worse president of my lifetime but I didn't scream, complain and obsessed every day. Get a life.

    It's an investment forum, why not post at a political forum.

    Don't know how old you are or where you come or what tv channel you get your perspective from, but the worst president of my 66 years of living and voting in the US of A is in office right now. There is no close 2nd. The swamp has never been more polluted in my life time.

    Please, change the channel to something other than fox entertainment and hate radio and you may end up with a more balanced perspective.
  • You do see it's an "Off-Topic" post right FD? They're allowed. Scroll on by or is that too much trouble for you.
  • Give poor Mnuchin a break. If you made the mistake of marrying this trophy wife the second time around, you would be dialing for all the dollars you could get.

  • I very much doubt 100 years from now Trump's Ron Chernow will write a revisionist history like he did for Grant
  • @FD1000 Obama would never have done this in a million years: https://nytimes.com/2020/07/19/us/politics/trump-fox-interview-coronavirus-race.html?campaign_id=9&emc=edit_nn_20200720&instance_id=20454&nl=the-morning&regi_id=137083247&segment_id=33842&te=1&user_id=cd7fb7018329832fea9e8d89dbeee4c4
    And that is just one of literally hundreds of examples of the current president constantly lying through his teeth despite glaring evidence to the contrary and in this case in a situation that the lying jeopardizes the health of the nation.

    Agree 100%. U.S. Grant is smiling from the grave because he will no longer be considered the worst president in American history.
    Historians, and anyone who knows any US history, do not consider Grant the worst, not even close to the worst. Good grief. With Buchanan and AJohnson and W alone ....

    Was watching JLewis homage footage, with LBJ righteously speaking post-Selma and getting important legislation done, partly redeeming himself, preemptively, for prosecuting that long war based on secretly known lies.

    yawn. Discussing politics with people that vote for the same party is boring.

    Obama results:

    Withdrew US troops and joked about ISIS, enabling the partial takeover of Syria and Iraq by Islamist radicals, with immeasurable consequences;
    Helped remove Gadaffi from Libya, leading to anarchy and radicalisation;
    Walked away from one of our closest allies, the UK, by threatening "back of line" status for a trade deal after BREXIT;
    Walked away from our friend Israel, the one democratic nation in the Middle East, surrounded by groups seeking its destruction;
    Passed health care "reform" which was no reform at all; it was an expensive insurance scheme that failed to address the underlying high US health care cost structure; It's one of the worse legislation of all time. Small business owners and people who use ACA pay 3-4 time more.
    Blindly supported black criminals when killed by police officers, before getting the facts of the cases;
    Drafted a "1938 Munich Conference"-style deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran and declared victory;
    Supported the Paris Climate deal; fine in principle, but which put PC politics above science;
    Supported Merkel's open border policy on illegal migrants, allowing terrorists to to enter the continent, and helping cause catastrophic harm to Europe.
    Obama dismissed the excellent Simpson-Bowles bi-partisan plan that he himself appointed.
    There is no way Obama didn't know how Hilary,Brennan,Comey,Rosenstein setup/started the Trump fake collusion while we find now that the Dems colluded.
    Other countries loved the yes man and let's please you, Mr Obama
    food stamp and Gov dependency at scary levels
    Socialism(or masking it under different names) is not that bad, can you name where it was successful?

    Trump results

    ISIS is defeated in just several months
    helping Israel, keep other Middle East countries in check
    Iran bad deal is gone
    Paris Climate deal is gone
    Law and order is stricter in the US(it was good until Covid 19 and the Dem mayors and Governors refused to do their job)
    Stronger borders, the wall will help and why many don't want to do it.
    follow the constitution instead of legislating from the bench because the Dems can't pass these rules the proper way.
    Sanctions are harsher against Russia,China,Turkey,NK and more to come
    Nato countries pay more
    Great economy in years, low unemployment and lowest among blacks and Latinos (Covid killed all that but after we find and implement the vaccine it will be good again).
    Cut regulations increased financial activity
    renegotiate agreements with other countries-just wait and watch
    Other countries don't like strong, unpredictable Trump who keeps them on their toes.
    food stamp and Gov dependency are lower
    Capitalism is not perfect but still better than socialism.

    @FD1000 Delusional reply. The only ones suffering TDS is your side. I could go point by point but why bother with someone who thinks withdrawal from the Paris climate deal is a positive instead of disastrous as it is and will be for the world, or someone who thinks reducing food stamps during a period of Great Depression like unemployment makes sense or that the wall is a sensible idea. By the way what is the subtext to this: "Blindly supported black criminals when killed by police officers...?" What is "black criminals" really code for in your world aside from guilty until proven innocent when killed by the police?
  • To say nothing of "helping Israel" do unto others what was done unto them.
  • Stunned at how wealthy Mnuchin is. Wow.

    I happen to live near a swamp. I like swamps. Swamps serve a valuable service to the environment. They cleanse the water and replenish ground supplies for dryer times. They help control floods and provide refuge for many forms of wildlife. What we got now ain’t no swamp. No good ever flows from it. And I wish folks would stop calling it one.

    Maybe one of these other terms might better fit: bog, morass, mud, quagmire
  • @LB, yeah, leave it be, FD1k is nutso
  • The "swamp" is actually a cholera-infested cesspool infecting (and infesting)all who rely on it for their water supply !
  • FD1K must be either Mark Meadows or KellyAnne Conway.
  • And FK1D thinks his governor Brian Kemp is doing a great job as well. Totally delusional.
  • MFO needs an ignore-user filter so we don't have to wade through these delusional utterances !

  • Trump = unequaled corruption, lies, manipulation, crimes going unchecked and new ones every day. No conscience. Disagreements on policy are one thing, but the tRumpster possesses no moral compass, no ethical convictions. Utterly unfit and unequipped for the Office. His life is a cesspool, both in the Presidency, and prior to it.

    Should have been more specific - most corrupt. At least until now.
    Complete crap, complete, no matter how you try and spin it. Complete. Ignorant, as I say. For either guy, of course. Enjoy your fascist defeat. Seriously.
